Stop false promises!
For too long, the industry has used the "natural" argument to promote products in which the truly active part remained marginal. Worse still, some of the natural ingredients used were oxidized or packaged in a way that destroyed their properties. Low-cost, unprofitable formulations, billed at full price with a lot of marketing hype.
We chose a different path: selecting our ingredients one by one, and above all becoming producers of our main ingredient, sea buckthorn berry.

Well-known in Asia, Eastern and Northern Europe, and also in Quebec, sea buckthorn berries are much less well known in Latin countries, notably France. Used in many cosmetic products in the form of its oily part, the berry expresses only part of its virtues. In fact, the native water contains vitamin C and polyphenols, powerful antioxidants. What's more, all the active ingredients present inside the berry work in synergy - what is known in pharmacy as the Totum.
La Maison de l'Argousier is committed to a sincere process that aims to reveal the full power of sea buckthorn's benefits. The naturalness, transparency and effectiveness of our products are at the heart of our daily concerns.
Our expertise
With a wealth of experience in agricultural engineering and plant protection, we are determined to reveal the plant truth about sea buckthorn. We have developed a certified Organic Agriculture plantation. The farm is equipped for freezing and storage at -18°C. In this way, we preserve all the active ingredients in the sea buckthorn berry, which is frozen around 4 hours after harvesting.
The berries are then processed using an original extraction method. We enzymatize the berries (Biolie process) to separate the oil phase from the water phase. These two phases are then processed in our laboratory to develop our products. Production takes place at room temperature to preserve the quality of the berries' active ingredients.
This entire process, carried out in France, ensures complete traceability of our products. We are committed to guaranteeing the long-term safety and performance of our products. Each of our products is a biomimetic concentrate of the substances that make up the entire superfruit. They preserve the precious interactions that are Sea Buckthorn's strength.

What's the difference between seabuckthorn and sea buckthorn?
Although their names are very similar in French, the Latin names for sea buckthorn and arbutus (Arbutus unedo and Hippophae rhamnoides) have nothing in common. Our products are 100% Vegan, as they are manufactured and formulated without any ingredients of animal origin. They are not tested on animals.
Are your products organic?
Our berries come from our certified organic plantation. Our finished products contain at least 96% natural ingredients.
However, our products are not BIO certified: one of our suppliers has not undertaken the certification process for financial reasons. However, we decided to select this supplier because :
- We didn't find the know-how of this supplier among its certified colleagues.
- Despite everything, this supplier's approach is similar to an organic one. As proof, all our products score 100/100 on the YUKA application.
What is a superfruit?
The term "Superfruit" refers to certain fruits reputed to have a beneficial effect on health. They are particularly rich in :

- Vitamins (especially vitamin C)...

Do your products have a scent?
Yes, our products have a characteristic sea buckthorn berry scent. This scent disappears very quickly after application.
